Last weekend was my lovely friend Bron's 40th Birthday. The theme was OP SHOP FORMAL.
The brief was: The theme for this gig is Op Shop Formal, please dress up but you must not look normal! But before you fret and hyperventilate, here are some ideas, you're sure to look great. Taffeta, sequins or big shoulder frocks, a hideous tie or some polka dot socks. Could you stil fit into your wedding gown? And where's that old suit, the one chocolate brown? A hat, a fur coat, or some over the top jewellery, or an op shop find that's positively unruly.
So the hunt was on. I finally found the dress and shoes, and decided I was chanelling my Grandma! The gloves came from my kindergarten dress ups and I made the brooch to match.
It was a lot of fun indeed!

I quite like the fabric of the dress! I'm quite sure you could transform it into something a little more modern, perhaps you could turn it into a skirt?
