Mother's Day

I have had the loveliest day. It all started with a card from Mr M on my bedside table, and then breakfast in bed; blueberry porridge, juice and coffee made and delievered by my beautiful daughters.
Then we watched one of my gifts, Breaking Dawn on DVD, whilst I sipped tea fresh from my new cosily attired teapot and hooked some little granny squares, and enjoyed the company of my girls.

Then Mr M arrived home from work with chocolates, and as it was so cold and miserable out we decided not to go out for afternoon tea as planned but have some yummy cakes from a local cafe at home instead. We watched gorgeous George in the wonderful movie The Descendants which we all loved. The girls cooked dinner while I submitted a grant proposal and then I did some more hooking and ate some chocolates. A perfect day, indeed.
I hope that all the Mothers reading this had themselves a perfect day too xx

Mother's Day Wrap up

I got very spoiled by my family. The Teen even used HER very own money to purchase Ralph Lauren perfume for me, which smells divine.

I was given the choice of how I wanted to spend my day, so I chose to go to IKEA. "Oh goodie" said Mr M and the Ballerina, "Oh no, I have to work" said the Teen. We went out to breakfast before dropping the Teen at work, spent a few hours at IKEA, including sampling the delights of the cafeteria and then had afternoon tea with Mr M's mum. Next a phone call to my Mum, who I will see next weekend then a simple dinner of French Onion soup and chilli bread. I then did some crocheting with some delicious new yarn. A great day indeed!

I hope all the Mums in blogland and beyond also had a lovely day to celebrate all that being a mother entails.
