My first Christmas project Crochet Poinsettia

Choc Peppermint Slice (recipe below)

EASY CHOC MINT SLICE

Crush 1 packet of malt-o-milk bikkies with 6 peppermint crisp bars. Melt 1/2 tin of condensed milk with 125gms of butter and then stir through crushed bits. Place into slice tin and pop in fridge until set. Melt 1 block of milk chocolate and then pour over slice. Return to fridge to set and then cut into squares. Try not to eat too much!

Eye Spy Shoes

I bought these handcrafted leather sandal/thongs from the Mercado de Artensias Guamalito (Artisan's market) in San Pedro Sula, Honduras back in May. I love them so much and wear them all the time, with jeans, shorts, dresses and skirts. My biggest fear is that I am going to wear them out. I wish I had bought a case full!

Political Unrest in Honduras

San Pedro Sula

Having recently visited Honduras we have become very interested in this little known about country. It is a land of contrast, poverty and extreme wealth as evidenced by donkey carts and BMW's side by side on the road. Cities filled with restaurants and shops, and ancient ruins just outside these cities. Beautiful rainforests and coastlines and mountains contrasted with armed militia everywhere you look.

This article from the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday describes the Political unrest that is going on. It is unlikely that you will hear about it in Australia. It makes you appreciate what we take for granted.
