My Latest Project |
I am terrible with paper. I always have piles of papers all over the place, and bits and pieces tucked in my diary and stuffed into my in/out tray. I hide receipts in drawers and make notes and lists on scraps of paper, that invariably I cannot find when I need them.
So last year, during the 'silly season', I decided that I wanted to find a way to get more organised, and upon finding a fantastic recycled notebook at Big W, an idea was born.
I created my Christmas planner as a place to record menus and recipes, gift ideas, purchases, swaps and wish lists. I used recycled envelopes to provide nifty pockets to store receipts and lay-by dockets. Suddenly everything had a place. I went to town with some scrapbooking embellishments that I had, so all it cost me was the $10 for the book.
Then came the tricky part - actually writing in it. I suffer a little from blank page syndrome, but keeping the goal of the project in mind, I made a start. Of course, I could always tear out a page, if it wasn't quite right, due to the wire binding, but I have resisted the tempation, thus far. It is a work in progress, but I already have a detailed record of my 2012 Christmas.
I loved the project so much, that I have now started a Birthday Planner. I bought another notebook, sticking to my favourite Natural design, as well as some neon pink paper tape and some bright stick- ons. I used some tapes I alread had as well. I applied the clear transfer sheet, included with the stick-ons to cover the entire front of the book to keep the decorations in place. It also makes it super shiny!
The wonderful folk at Micador have kindly agreed to give 2 prize packs away to my readers. Each pack will include one A5 notebook and an asortment of accessories.
Each Collected & Co. item is designed as a beautiful object in it’s own right, but that’s only the beginning. A key feature of the range is the ability to customise each item with special decorative stickers, tapes and other stuff provided to personalise your purchase.
Everybody is unique, and everyone likes to do things their own way. Do you like your notebooks covered in stickers and coffee stains? Every margin filled with doodles and scrawled notes? Or do you prefer your space to be clean and perfectly organised, cool and uncluttered? However you want your space to be, Collected & Co. puts creative control in your hands. Bespoke and organize your space, with Collected & Co.
There are lots of ideas and projects to inspire on Micador's website.
You can enter with the Rafflecopter widget below: entries open in AUSTRALIA only, and are awarded for being a follower, leaving a comment on this post and answering a question about how you would use your own A5 notebook.
The give-away is open until 30th March, and there will be 2 winners. Micador will post the prize directly to the winners, in Australia.
THANKYOU to everyone that entered and for sharing ideas on what you would use the notebook for! Congratulations to the winners Amy and Alison.

Disclosure: I purchased the Collected &Co products for my own use, and was offered prizes after contacting Micador to say how much I enjoyed their products and was planning to write a review about my experiences. I have written my own views of the products that I used. This is my first time using a Give-away widget, and I am very nervous about doing it! I hope everything works out fine!
I haven't had a lot of time lately, but have been crocheting a few hand towels for my Mum's kitchen, she has artritis and can't do them herself anymore.
