A very yummy book

This new crochet book by Christen Haden and Mariarosa Sala has arrived on the scene at a very timely moment, for me at least!

As a Kindergarten teacher, I have many opportunities to interact with children and shape their early learning journeys, an honour indeed.

Recently the government gave kindergartens (in Victoria?) money to spend on new equipment.

At my kinder we bought new sustainable wooden "home corner" furniture, and dinner and tea sets made from recycled milk bottles with green friendly processing methods.

Now, I do not want to give the children cheaply produced plastic food, for their role play. I much prefer natural resources..........So, enter this book!

I do have some knitted food that my mum has made (like this) , but as crochet is my preferred method of operation, I can now add to my collection with some of the delights in this book.

mmmmmmm mouth watering!

The book is beautifully laid out, with clear diagrams and lots of enticing photographs, including close-ups. The projects look very realistic, which I find appealing. There is something for all 'tastes'

The "yummy 'gurumi" patterns in the book make use of UK terminology (goodie) and small amounts of yarn and appear to be quick and simple. I can't wait to have a try, or may I suggest, Mum, you may like to have a go for me ???? !!!!

The book is published by the ever-wonderful Penguin and available in Aus on 22/11, so keep an eye or tongue out for it!
