This gorgeous book by crafter Jenny Ryan is a veritable treasure trove of crafty goodness. It is full to the brim with beautifully presented projects for dressing up your look, organising your crafty space and decorating your nest. The book contains a collection of 30 sweet and simple sewing patterns which are ideal for gifts, if you can bear to part with them.
Many of the projects are made with repurposed materials, all are fun and colourful. The photography captures this bright, fresh look perfectly. There are cute things to make for children from a pretty dolly quilt to monogrammed tees to the sweetest little bear.
There are great tips for personalising the projects as well as handy hints for achieving a seamless result. The front of the book has step by step instructions and a basic introduction to sewing techniques and tools, making this an ideal book for beginning sewers. There is also plenty to keep more experienced sewers interested too.
On my personal wish list are:
- Patchwork Travel pillow
- Crochet Hook Cosy
- Checkerboard Table Runner
- Recycled Coasters
and that's just for starters!
Available now at all good book retailers, published in Australia by Penguin
And to celebrate all this cuteness I will be having a giveaway. I am itching to stitch the sweet little Square Bear (as pictured above) and so will be making one to give-away on my blog.
So leave a comment if you want to win. The competition will close on the 18/4 to give me time to make him!
I'll keep you updated on my progress!
