Starting over

Well, folks. I have a new hard drive. It is like having a clean slate. I have had to re-install Office, Windows Mail, Norton, Adobe etc. It has been a pain. All of my files are trapped in the old hard drive, but there is a wee glimmer of hope that they may be rescued by the genius I call my brother. Fortunately, I had backed up some files, including some photos, but for the most part I have lost everything I had saved to my computer. This includes email conatcts, my business files, my kids homework and a whole lot of stuff (probaly about 80%) that I couldn't care less about! This is the last time I want to mention this, as it is time to move forward, and I have to let go of things that I cannot change. I always intended to backup my important files, I just never made the time.

  1. I'm glad you didn't lose anything to important! That's my worst nightmare! All praise to the external hard drive, I say! Dang computers. xx

  2. Oh Laurel, oh oh oh. I know it is only a computer, an inanimate object but it is really more than that. It is a tool to communicate with friends, a place to store memories, and so much more. I am sad for you and have my fingers crossed that things can be retrieved from the broken hard drive.

  3. Oh Laurel....this has happened to me ages ago and now I have a back up hard drive and another HDD to back up my back up. My hubby keeps telling me to back everything up as its not good when the computer crashes and its all gone. I hope you can get it all off your old HDD and invest in a spare HDD...Its a must :) hugs Vicki
