Plain Octagon

10 ch, join with sl st.

round 1: 3ch, 23 tr into ring, join with sl st to top of 3ch.

round 2: 3ch, Itr into each of next 2tr, [2ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr] 7times, 2ch, sl st to top of 3ch

round 3: 3ch, 1tr into same place as last st st, tr into next tr, [2ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr] 7 times, 2ch, sl st to top of 3ch.

round 4: 3ch, 1tr into same place as last sl st, 1tr into each of next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, [2ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, 2tr into next tr] 7 times, 2ch, sl st to top of 3ch.

round 5: repeat round 4, working extra trebles in each group.

Cast off.

This motif is suitable for multiple rows. I am making mine into a pot holder.
