Fortunately.....unfortunately

Things have been interesting around here of late. A mix of ups and downs. The devasting floods throughout this fair land were so overwhelming that I just did not feel like blogging. Bidding and raffles and generous spirits have helped. I won the auction for the Chantal Vincent Elephant print above. This is ace indeed! I will save it for my new small home.....plans for which have unfortunately been put on hold. We have tenants that will move in on Friday. Visiting my new home and making over the garden was bittersweet. I must be patient. My plans of a simpler life will come to be.

I Celebrated 18 Years of Marriage with the wonderful Mr M. Sadly he is very unwell and is waiting on news of surgery, after a multitude of tests and specialist appointments. It is so difficult to watch someone you love in so much pain. I got out my wedding dress and took photos of the satin roses. There was still confetti in the tulle which made me feel all nostalgic. We ate chocolate roses that Mr M bought in a big bunch and I though about the dreams I had as a young bride.

I was so lucky to spend a few days away at the beach for a scrapbooking weekend. I walked, talked, created and revelled in the company of women. It was devastating to discover that one of the ladies has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already struggled so much and I pray that she can leap this next hurdle in her life.

I have cleaned and sorted my sewing room, and taken a boot load of uneccessary stuff to the opshop. I have bought some new old goodies, but am being really selective. We still have not sold our house and whilst the measures necessary for open inspections are draining, the necessary tidiness and cleanliness are refreshing.

I am enjoying my holidays, making the most of good books, interesting DVD's and crochet. It will all soon come to an end....work is looming in the not too distant future. High school for my two girls is also on the horizon.

I shall be back soon to share my latest treasures and maybe a little creating and a new year goal or two. All the things I planned to blog about, long before the waters rose and perspectives were challenged.
