I made this little zippered purse to take on our holiday (2 weeks today!) I followed this excellent tutorial
I decided to use some scraps of upholstery fabric in case I mucked it up. I used an ancient zipper (still in original packaging), which has metal teeth and age spots! It also turns out that I am rather impressed with my effort!
I only challenged zips last year and I too wondered why I'd always been so terrified! Love the new banner.
